Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response

April 10, 2020 |

Beyond all else, our highest priority is the health and safety of our entire Hearts & Hammers- Twin Cities— staff, homeowners, volunteers, supporters, and all our neighbors across Minnesota. We continue to express gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, medical personnel, first responders, police officers, firefighters, delivery workers, grocery store staff, sanitation employees, news media, and all the essential workers who are doing their best to keep everyone safe, healthy and informed.

During this time of social distancing and COVID-19, Hearts & Hammers is thinking through innovative ways to keep our homeowners safe and secure in their forever homes. Despite the current situation, we know homeowners still need our support. Until we have a recommendation on how to help our homeowners, we are following the guidance of public health officials to safeguard our volunteers, homeowners, and staff. As a result, we have paused all of our program day activities until at least August. We have also postponed 2020 fundraising events: The Spring RAG and Golf Classic.

Currently, we are continuing to work remotely to advocate for affordable housing, bring awareness to the role that housing plays, and keep momentum with our program goals and projects. We also continue to accept homeowners’ applications and engage in conversations to understand what assistance we can provide.

We appreciate your support and will share future updates as our situation evolves.

We hope you and your families stay safe.
